- An entry consists of:
The completed entry form for an eligible product, service, company or individual
Attachment
copies of entry form and attachments if submitting by mail
One digital image less than 1megabyte and
fee payment.
Nominees wishing to take advantage of the Earlybird Entry promotion (zero entry fee) must ensure that their entire submission/s (including completed entry form/s; submission/s; and any relevant attachments) are received by mail or online on or before 31 December 2007. Submissions received after this date will incur the entry fee ($66 per online nomination; $77 per hard copy submission)
All eligible products, product ranges, and services for all categories must have been introduced to the Australian retail market after 1 March 2007.
- Eligible products for category 4 (Australian Designed and/or Manufactured) must be either:
Designed in Australia or by an Australian national AND/OR
Manufactured in Australia from local or imported raw materials (proof of manufacture in Australia may be required).
For categories 1, 2, 3 & 4, a ‘product range' must consist of at least three products which exhibit a common design theme.
Nominees for category 3 can submit EITHER a service OR a single product OR a product range (minimum of three products).
There is no limit to the number of entries that may be submitted, provided each is the subject of a separate entry form and fee.
Reed Gift Fairs reserves the right to disqualify or reject any nomination that does not fit the Awards criteria.
Marks will be deducted from any incomplete entries, entries which fail to include the recommended retail price (relevant to all product/s and service submissions), and entries that exceed the 1000 word submission limit.
Entrants whose product or product ranges are short-listed for the final judging round will be required to supply a sample of their product (at their own cost), supplied in normal retail packaging. This may include point of sale support material. Winning products will be retained for display at Reed Gift Fairs. Finalists' products will be donated to The Starlight Children's Foundation Australia OR Finalists wishing their product/s to be returned, can arrange to do so at their own cost. Every effort will be taken to safeguard samples but no responsibility will be taken for loss or damages.
Entrants in category 5 (Australian Retailing) whose submissions are short-listed for the final judging round may be required to supply 5-10 hard copy versions of high resolution images of their store (at their own cost). If a finalist would like their image/s to be returned, they can arrange to do so at their own cost. Every effort will be taken to safeguard images but no responsibility will be taken for loss or damages.
All product-related finalists in categories 1 -4 will be required to provide an image smaller than 1MB to be eligible to be entered into the The People's Choice Award.
All Finalists will be required to provide a minimum 1mb jpeg image of their product/range/service/store for use at The Gift Awards Gala Dinner and in post-event promotional materials.
Winning products will be retained for display at six Reed Gift Fairs during 2008/09.
Product information and photography will be used to further the aims of The Gift Awards. Images taken of finalists' products, stores, marketing materials and The Gift Awards events may be used in future promotional material by Reed Gift Fairs and The Gift Awards.
Every effort will be made to obtain media exposure of the Awards and winners, however specific coverage cannot be guaranteed.
