Are you eligible to enter?

Check the entry criteria for each Award:

Category 1 - The Calendar

 Open to all new single products or product ranges launched on the Australian market after 1 March 2007.
 A ‘product range' must consist of at least three products which exhibit a common design theme.
 All products must bear obvious and specific relevance to the calendar event Award for which they are nominating
     (i.e. fruit pudding for Christmas, pyjama gift pack for Mother's Day, box of chocolates for Valentine's Day).
     The organisers maintain the right to reject nominees that do not fit this criterion.

Awards for the Best Product or Range for:

 1.  Christmas
 2. 
Father's Day
 3. 
Mother's Day
 4. 
Valentine's Day

Category 2 - Home/Lifestyle

  Open to all new single products or product ranges launched on the Australian market after 1 March 2007
  A ‘product range' must consist of at least three products which exhibit a common design theme

Awards for the Best Product or Range in the following categories:

 5. Gift
Open to general Gifts and giftware including but not limited to: Australiana & souvenirs, toys, games & children's ranges, greetings & stationery, aromatherapy, leather goods and seasonal ranges.

 6. Homewares & Kitchen
Open to general Home and Kitchen products including but not limited to: furniture; floral & botanicals; ceramics; soft furnishing; lighting; decorative; accessories; bed & bath; food products; gourmet food; dinnerware; tableware; glassware; china; crystal.

 7. Jewellery & Fashion
Open to general Jewellery & Fashion products including but not limited to: fine jewellery; precious jewellery; semi-precious jewellery; costume jewellery; clocks & watches; fashion; fashion accessories; bags; belts; sunglasses; hats; garments; fashion garments; crystals.

 8. Garden & Outdoor
Open to general Garden & Outdoor products including but not limited to: gardening equipment/clothing; outdoor dining and lifestyle products; garden accessories; wall hangings; decorative tiles; barbeques and accessories; cushions and furniture, ceramics, water features.

 9. Baby & Children's
Open to general Baby & Children's products relevant to persons under the age of 16 years, including but not limited to: toys, games and play equipment; baby or children's clothing; blankets; books; baby and children's accessories; bedroom décor and furnishings; wall hangings; and children's keepsakes.

 10. Licensed Product/s
Open to licensed products including but not limited to those categories itemised above.

 11. Novelty Product/s
Open to general products that contain an element of novelty including but not limited to: novelty mugs; clothing; aprons; games and puzzles; shotglasses; ornaments; sporting merchandise; novelty confectionary; stationery sets; porcelain or glass trinkets; placemats; keyrings; signature bears.

Category 3 - Conscience & Creativity

    Product-related nominations: Open to all new single products or product ranges launched on the 
       Australian market after 1 March 2007.
    A ‘product range' must consist of at least three products which exhibit a common design theme.
    Service-related nominations: Open to all new services launched on the Australian market after 1 March 2007

Awards for the Best Product/Range or Service being:

 12. Most Environmentally Responsible

 13. Most Socially Responsible

 14. Most Innovative

These Awards are designed to recognise conscience and creativity in the gift industry and are open to all - suppliers, retailers, manufacturers, consultancies etc.

Category 4 - Australian Designed and/or Manufactured

    Open to all new single products or product ranges launched on the Australian market after 1 March 2007
    A ‘product range' must consist of at least three products which exhibit a common design theme
    Products in this category must be either 1) designed in Australia or by an Australian national and/or
       2) Manufactured in Australia (proof of manufacture in Australia may be required)

Awards for the Best Australian Designed and/or Manufactured Product or Range in the following categories:

 15. Gift
Open to general Gifts and giftware including but not limited to: Australiana & souvenirs, toys, games & children's ranges, greetings & stationery, aromatherapy, leather goods and seasonal ranges.

Category 5 - Australian Retailing

Awards for the Best Retailing in Australia for:

 20. Retail Outlet (Store or Online)
Retail Store - open to any Australian-based retailer.
Online Store - open to any retailer that currently delivers to Australia.

 21. Visual Merchandising
This Award is open to any Australian retailer. Visual Merchandising can be either for a specific line of products or for overall VM effect.

Category 6 - People's Choice www.thegiftawards.com.au

Vote online from the list of all finalists for:

 22. The People's Choice Award (New!)
Finalists will appear on the Gift Awards website late April 2008. The public can vote online from the list of all finalists in categories 1 - 4 for the People's Choice Award (one vote per person). All finalists must provide one image in jpeg format (1mb or less) of their entry for display on the Gift Awards website.
