WINNERS OF THE GIFT AWARDS 2008 ANNOUNCED IN STYLE
Winners of The Gift Awards 2008 have been announced with Hello Dolly, Sheldon & Hammond and Babycupcakes each taking away two coveted trophies last Friday at the gala presentation night in Sydney.
Amidst the harbour setting, industry members recognised excellence across five categories, with a total of 22 awards being presented, including Australian Giftguide’s Supplier of the Year Award, which was won by Splosh Australia.
Covering all sectors of the Australian gift industry, including homewares and kitchen; jewellery and fashion; general giftware; and garden and outdoor-related products and services; as well as retail outlet and socially responsible categories, The Gift Awards 2008 entries underwent a two-tiered judging process, involving 33 judges from a diversity of backgrounds and expertise.
Winners were presented with an exclusive handmade glass trophy, category-specific Gift Awards logo for use in their marketing materials, publicity at five upcoming Reed Gift Fairs around the country, and the ability to promote their win for an unlimited period.
Guests enjoyed a laugh with comedian MC Gary Eck – back by popular demand – and were wowed by Broadway entertainment group The Leading Men. At the conclusion of official proceedings, guests danced the night away to covers band The Anthill Mobb.
Retailers, manufacturers, suppliers, designers and industry representatives attended the black-tie event.
All winners have now been automatically entered into the new People’s Choice Award, with the general public able to vote for their favourite product at www.thegiftawards.com.au. Voting closes 1 July 2008, with the winner announced at Reed Gift Fair Brisbane July.
The Gift Awards 2008 proudly supports the Starlight Children’s Foundation of Australia, and is sponsored by scanXpress, Agility Fairs & Events, Coleman Group, AE Group and Australian Giftguide.
